November Child(2008)

November Child is a German drama spanning two decades of secrets and reunion. In 1980 East Germany, 20-year-old Anne hides Juri, a Red Army deserter, and they fall in love. Facing arrest and execution, the couple flees to the West, abandoning Anne's infant daughter Inga with her grandparents. Inga grows up believing her mother died in a swimming accident. Twenty-five years later, literature professor Robert recognizes Anne in one of his seminars and becomes intrigued by Inga's story. When Robert reveals the truth, Inga reluctantly accepts his help to search for her mother across Germany. Their journey becomes a reckoning with buried family history, lost time, and the possibility of reconnection. The film explores how Cold War divisions fractured lives and how truth, once uncovered, can reshape everything.
