First Night is a comedy about Adam, a wealthy industrialist eager to prove himself cultured. Tired of his friends dismissing him as a shallow businessman, he decides to stage an opera at his country estate, convinced that showcasing his singing voice will earn their respect. His real motivation, however, is to impress a female conductor he's been pursuing—and she becomes his first recruit for the ambitious production. As Adam throws himself into the project, his grand plans collide with the messy realities of amateur theatrics and genuine emotion, forcing him to question what truly matters.
