The Grand Theft(2011)

The Grand Theft is a comedy about a struggling film producer and his crew who turn to crime to fund their ambitious heist movie. Mario Vigilante, a slick but broke producer, convinces his not-so-bright collaborators that robbing a bank is the perfect way to finance their blockbuster project. As they plan the actual theft, the line between their fictional script and real-world consequences blurs dangerously. What starts as a desperate scheme to save their film spirals into chaos when the robbery itself becomes far more complicated than any screenplay could predict. The film plays with the absurdity of life imitating art, mixing dark humor with genuine stakes as the amateur criminals discover that pulling off a real heist is nothing like directing one.
