The Auction(2013)

The Auction is a French drama about a rural farmer facing an unexpected crisis. Gaby runs Bouchard & Sons Farm, raising lambs on his land, but his two daughters—whom he's sheltered and educated as city dwellers—live far from the countryside. When his eldest daughter asks for financial help to save her house from foreclosure, Gaby must confront the gap between his modest farming life and his children's urban struggles. The film explores themes of family obligation, generational difference, and the sacrifices parents make for their children's futures.
