Butterfly(2004)

Butterfly is a drama about Flavia, a married teacher in her thirties whose carefully constructed life unravels when she encounters Yip, a charismatic singer, in a supermarket. The chance meeting awakens long-buried feelings and pulls Flavia back to memories of Jin, a passionate teenage romance she has spent years trying to forget. Trapped in an emotionally suffocating marriage, Flavia finds herself drawn to the playful, seductive energy Yip represents—a stark contrast to her present life. As old desires resurface, she must confront questions about her identity and the choices that led her down this path. The film explores themes of suppressed desire, self-discovery, and the tension between the life we live and the life we might have chosen.
