Schooled: The Price of College Sports is a documentary that examines how college football and basketball became a billion-dollar industry while athletes remain unpaid. Adapted from Pulitzer Prize winner Taylor Branch's book The Cartel and his 2011 Atlantic article "The Shame of College Sports," the film investigates the NCAA's controversial amateurism rules and their impact on student-athletes. Through interviews, archival footage, and on-the-ground reporting, it traces the history and culture of big-time college athletics in America, revealing how institutions profit enormously while denying players basic rights and compensation.
