The Sexual Revolution is an Italian film that follows fourteen strangers—seven men and seven women—who check into a seaside hotel to participate in a radical experiment. Inspired by psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich's theories, Professor Emilio Missiroli orchestrates a week-long study designed to prove that breaking sexual taboos can cure existential anxiety. Each night, participants are randomly paired for intimate encounters, deliberately stripped of emotional attachment to test whether desire can exist independently of feeling. The film explores whether liberation through transgression offers genuine freedom or merely exposes the impossibility of separating body from heart.
