Zobani(1993)

Zobani is a film about a librarian conscripted into military service at a border barracks, where brutal hazing by senior soldiers runs unchecked. When the pacifist recruit resists their abuse, he's beaten badly. A fellow soldier, a blacksmith named Banýr, is killed by the same group. The librarian and Aladar, a Romani soldier, become prime targets and attempt to flee across the border. Their escape ends in tragedy—Aladar is shot, the librarian captured—but the senior soldiers finally face justice. The film examines institutional violence, complicity, and the human cost of military brutality, told with unflinching realism.
