Maratabat(2014)

Maratabat is a film about political upheaval in a region tired of corruption. When the ruling Abubakar clan's grip on power becomes unbearable, violent clashes erupt across the community. The people turn to the rival Mahardika clan, hoping they'll restore order and leadership. Yet a central question haunts the narrative: will the Mahardikas break the cycle of bloodshed, or perpetuate it? The film explores whether their rise to power will be driven by honor or ambition, and whether peace or further violence awaits the region. Caught between competing interests and old grudges, the community faces an uncertain future under new rule.
