Return to Sleepaway Camp is a slasher film that resurrects the summer-camp horror formula with fresh bloodshed. When campers and counselors at Camp Manabe start vanishing and reappearing as mutilated bodies, Ronnie becomes convinced the killings mirror a brutal massacre from Camp Arawak twenty years prior. Haunted by those old crimes, Ronnie struggles to convince others that history is repeating itself—even as the body count climbs. The film blends paranoia with graphic violence, trapping its cast in a remote setting where trust erodes and survival feels increasingly unlikely. Director Robert Hiltzik returns to the franchise he created, delivering a belated sequel that leans into the genre's darkest impulses while exploring whether past horrors can truly return to claim new victims.
