Prince of Foxes is a 1950 historical drama set in Renaissance Italy during the reign of Duke Cesare Borgia. Borgia dispatches his ambitious protégé Andrea Orsini on a delicate political mission: to arrange a strategic marriage between Borgia's sister and the heir to Ferrara, a union that would consolidate power across central Italy. Orsini, a cunning and ruthless operator, accepts the task without hesitation. But when he encounters Camilla Verano, the beautiful wife of a provincial count, his loyalties begin to fracture. As genuine feeling threatens to override his ambition, Orsini faces an impossible choice between love and survival—betraying Borgia is a death sentence. The film explores the collision between personal desire and political necessity in an era of shifting alliances and lethal consequences.
