The Raking(2017)

The Raking is a horror film following a group of college students who travel to Joshua Tree, California to debunk an urban legend for their anthropology thesis. What begins as academic research quickly turns sinister when the students discover the legend may be far more real than they anticipated. As they investigate the desert's dark folklore, they become unwitting participants in the very myth they came to disprove. The film explores themes of curiosity and consequence, trapping its characters in a nightmare where the line between legend and reality dissolves. Tensions mount as the group realizes they may not leave the desert alive.
