Dorian Gray(1970)
He is twenty-one. He has been twenty-one for almost half a century
Dorian Gray is a dark psychological drama set in Victorian London. A strikingly beautiful young man makes a Faustian bargain: his portrait will age and bear the marks of his sins while he remains eternally youthful. As Dorian descends into hedonism and cruelty, the painting becomes a grotesque record of his moral corruption. The film explores vanity, corruption, and the price of immortality through a Gothic lens, following Dorian's spiral from innocent aristocrat to morally bankrupt villain. His obsession with preserving his looks at any cost drives him toward increasingly dark deeds, while the hidden portrait serves as both his confession and his doom.
