Mr. Jealousy(1998)

Mr. Jealousy follows Lester Grimm, an aspiring writer whose romantic insecurity traces back to a humiliating first date at fifteen, when his date kissed another man at a party. Years later, his paranoia resurfaces when he learns that Ramona Ray, his current girlfriend, once dated successful novelist Dashiell Frank. Desperate to understand their past relationship and ease his jealousy, Lester infiltrates Dashiell's group therapy sessions under false pretenses. What unfolds is a darkly comic exploration of obsession, self-sabotage, and the ways we construct narratives about our romantic rivals. The film examines how childhood wounds shape adult relationships and the lengths people go to when consumed by doubt and suspicion.
