The Edelweiss Pirates(2004)

The Edelweiss Pirates is a historical drama set in Cologne during the final months of World War II, as the city lies in ruins and fear grips its population. Karl and his younger brother Peter find themselves on opposite sides of the Nazi regime—Karl joins the Edelweiss Pirates, a youth resistance movement that defies Hitler Youth authority through street fights and anti-war graffiti, while Peter is enlisted in the Hitler Youth itself. Orphaned after their mother's death in a bombing and separated from their father at the front, the brothers navigate impossible choices as their family fractures under the weight of war. Karl also struggles to support Cilly, the fiancée of their fallen brother Otto, as she fights to protect her children in a collapsing world.
