The Overeater(2003)

The Overeater is a French crime drama centered on Séléna, the feared chief of the Marseille police force. Haunted by his past and struggling with his weight, Séléna lives in isolation, consumed by inner demons. When he discovers that Elsa, a beautiful young woman, murdered her wealthy uncle, he sees an opportunity to break his solitude. Rather than turn her in, he strikes a dangerous bargain: a year of nightly dinners together in exchange for his silence. What begins as a twisted arrangement becomes increasingly complicated as their relationship deepens, blurring the lines between manipulation, desire, and redemption. The film explores themes of loneliness, power, and the ways people use control to mask their vulnerabilities.
