From Tehran to London is a 2012 film that unfolds like a Russian doll, beginning with director Mania Akbari shooting her own film-within-a-film called Women Do Not Have Breasts. The inner narrative follows Ava, a young poet and writer, and her wealthy older husband Ashkan, who live in an isolated house on Tehran's outskirts, attended by household staff. Despite their comfortable surroundings, Ava grows increasingly dissatisfied and estranged from Ashkan, whose constant attempts to mold her into a dutiful wife have transformed what was once an exciting relationship into a cycle of mutual resentment.
