La Maestra: Alondra de la Parra is a documentary following the remarkable career of Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra. Born in New York in 1980, de la Parra discovered her passion for conducting early and pursued it with relentless ambition. She began musical training at seven with piano, later taking up cello at thirteen. After studying in England and the United States under mentors including Kurt Masur and Kenneth Kiesler, she founded the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas at just twenty-three. De la Parra made history in 2017 as the first conductor and music director of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Her orchestras and audiences span the globe, cementing her status as a trailblazer in classical music. The film captures her ongoing journey as one of the world's most accomplished contemporary conductors.
