Food Luck!(2020)

Food Luck! is a Japanese drama about a man reconnecting with his past through food and family. Yoshito grew up watching his mother Yasue run a beloved yakiniku restaurant until a scathing review from critic Furuyama Tatsuya devastated their business. When Yoshito's need for attention contributed to Yasue closing the restaurant, their relationship fractured. Eighteen years later, Yoshito works as a freelance writer for an online food website, partnering with editor Takenaka Shizuka on their first assignment—yakiniku. Just as this project begins, Yoshito learns his estranged mother has collapsed. The film explores redemption, culinary passion, and the chance to heal old wounds through the dishes that once defined their lives.
