Repentance is a psychological thriller about Thomas Carter, a self-help author and life coach whose teachings on karma and spiritual redemption become a weapon against him. When a disturbed former client, Angel Sanchez, abducts Thomas, he forces the coach to confront the dark consequences of his own past. Sanchez uses Thomas's own philosophy of action and reaction—the concept of Vipaka—to terrorize him and his family, demanding they answer for sins they've tried to forget. As Thomas fights for survival, he discovers that some debts cannot be paid with words alone. The film explores how the pursuit of enlightenment can mask deeper guilt, and whether redemption is truly possible for those who've caused real harm.
