Lady Bug(2021)

Lady Bug is a coming-of-age film set in a small northern town, following Xu Maomao as she embarks on a personal journey of self-discovery through fashion. When Maomao decides to pursue beauty on her own terms, she collaborates with her friend Little Tailor to create a custom skirt that expresses her true identity. Her unconventional choice sparks concern among her parents and teachers, who struggle to understand her choices. As Maomao navigates their disapproval, she works to bridge the gap between her vision of herself and the expectations placed upon her. The film explores themes of individuality, acceptance, and the courage it takes to be authentic in a community bound by tradition.
