Over The Cracks(2023)

Over The Cracks is a darkly comedic film about grief and denial. When Odile's husband Jean dies suddenly on the eve of her birthday, she can't face the truth. Instead of calling for help, she hides his body under the bed. As her children and grandchildren arrive for the celebration, Odile must maintain the charade while grappling with her loss in increasingly absurd and poignant ways. The film balances black humor with genuine emotion, exploring how people cope with death through avoidance and the fragile facades we construct to protect ourselves and those we love.
