Bhor(2018)

Bhor follows Budhni, a young woman from Bihar's Mushar community caught between her ambition to study and her family's pressure to marry. She agrees to wed Sugan on the condition he allows her to continue her education. After marriage, Budhni confronts a deeper struggle: ending open defecation in her household. Sugan supports her fight, helping construct an innovative makeshift toilet. The film traces their relationship as Budhni pursues education and sanitation reform, capturing the emotional complexity of two people navigating poverty, tradition, and social change in rural India.
