Cold Fish is a Japanese thriller that begins when Shamoto, a struggling fish shop owner, accepts help from the seemingly generous Murata after his teenage daughter Mitsuko is caught shoplifting. Murata and his wife offer Mitsuko work at their rival fish store, an act of kindness that initially appears to solve Shamoto's problems. But as the two men grow closer, Shamoto uncovers a disturbing truth: Murata harbors a deeply sinister nature beneath his polite exterior.
