The Turncoat(2020)

The Turncoat is a German war drama set in summer 1944, following Wehrmacht soldier Walter Proska after his train is destroyed by partisans en route to the Eastern Front. Stranded with a handful of fellow soldiers and cut off from their unit, Proska and his men face mounting desperation as their commanding officer, Willi Stehauf, issues increasingly brutal and senseless orders. Trapped between the advancing Soviet forces and their own deteriorating chain of command, the soldiers confront the moral collapse of the Nazi regime in its final months. The film captures the chaos and inhumanity of the war's end through the eyes of ordinary men forced to reckon with impossible choices.
