Panchayat(2020)

Panchayat is a comedy-drama series following Abhishek, an engineering graduate who accepts a job as panchayat secretary in a remote Uttar Pradesh village, viewing it as a temporary stepping stone. Desperate to escape the unfamiliar rural setting and its eccentric residents, he studies for the CAT entrance exam while navigating the chaos of village administration. Caught between demanding villagers and the harsh realities of rural life, Abhishek discovers that his escape plan proves far more complicated than expected. The series balances humor with genuine moments of frustration and growth as he grapples with a lifestyle completely foreign to his urban ambitions, gradually uncovering unexpected connections to the community he initially wanted to leave behind.
