Frontier of Love(2018)

Frontier of Love is a romantic drama set during the Cold War tensions between China and the Soviet Union. In the late 1950s, Chinese broadcasting student Wen Yiqiu marries Soviet announcer Weika in Beijing, only to be torn apart when political pressure forces him to return home. Desperate to remain close, Yiqiu accepts a job in a remote border town. Separated by national boundaries, the couple sustains their relationship through radio broadcasts, finding solace in each other's voices as they navigate an era of geopolitical upheaval. Their love becomes an act of defiance against the forces keeping them apart, anchored by the hope that Chinese-Soviet relations might one day improve and allow them to reunite.
