Unbroken is a Russian series based on the true story of Ekaterina Martynova, who was abducted at fourteen by Viktor Mokhov, a serial killer known as the "Skopinsky maniac." For nearly four years, Mokhov held Ekaterina and her seventeen-year-old friend Elena Samokhina captive in a basement garage in Skopin, a city in Russia's Ryazan region. The series chronicles their harrowing ordeal and the resilience required to survive prolonged captivity under one of Russia's most notorious criminals. Drawing from documented case files, Unbroken examines the psychological and physical toll of their imprisonment while exploring how the victims endured and ultimately escaped their captor's grip.
