Mukti is an Indian historical drama set in Midnapore jail during the independence struggle. Political prisoners from opposing ideologies face brutal conditions under the tyrannical jailor Petty. When Ramkinkar arrives, he attempts to unite the fractured inmates through an unlikely weapon: a game of football. As tensions simmer between guards and prisoners, the sport becomes a rare moment of solidarity and resistance. The film explores themes of freedom, sacrifice, and human dignity in the face of colonial oppression. Through sport and camaraderie, the prisoners discover that their shared struggle transcends political differences.
