Swift Justice is an American detective drama that aired on UPN for one season in 1996. James McCaffrey stars as Mac Swift, a former Navy SEAL turned private investigator who's been fired from the NYPD. He relies on his former partner Detective Randall Patterson (Gary Dourdan) and his father Al Swift (Len Cariou) as he navigates cases in New York. Created by Dick Wolf and Richard Albarino, the series drew comparisons to The Equalizer and Die Hard for its hard-hitting action and graphic violence. Though praised for its visuals and McCaffrey's performance, the show's stark depiction of violence sparked complaints from viewers and advertisers, leading UPN to cancel it after 13 episodes. Creator Wolf later called the cancelation a mistake, citing strong ratings at the time.
