Urban Legends(2007)
Urban Legends is a documentary-style series that dramatizes three urban legends per episode, challenging viewers to identify which stories are real and which are fabricated. Each legend features witnesses—actors for the false accounts, real people for the true ones—creating a blend of fact and fiction that keeps audiences guessing. The show also includes quick quiz-style segments called mini-myths that air before commercial breaks, with answers revealed afterward. Originally hosted by Michael Allcock, the series premiered in 2007 on the Biography Channel in the U.S., History Television in Canada, and FX in the UK with Mark Dolan as host. David Hewlett took over as narrator when the show returned to Syfy in 2011 with new episodes. Urban Legends gained international distribution across Argentina, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Australia, and numerous European countries. The series now airs occasionally as reruns and marathons on Syfy and Chiller.
