Morning Star(1965)

Morning Star is a daytime soap opera that aired on NBC from September 1965 to July 1966. Created by Ted Corday, who also developed the long-running Days of Our Lives, the show was one of the first color soap operas on television and aired at 11:00 AM, paired with fellow Corday creation Paradise Bay. The series follows Katy Elliot, a Connecticut fashion designer who relocates to New York City to pursue her career. Haunted by the death of her fiancé Greg Ross, killed in a traffic accident before their wedding, Katy seeks a fresh start in the city. There she reconnects with her aunt Millie and uncle Ed, a Springdale judge, while building a new life with her roommate Joan Mitchell and Joan's daughter Liz. Romance blooms when Katy meets Bill Riley. Like Corday's other work, Morning Star opened with a poignant epigraph: "No matter how dark the night, there is always a new dawn to come. The sun is but a morning star.
