Rock Sugar Summer is a Chinese romance series following Lai Duidui, a college art student struggling with academics and facing potential expulsion. When top student Jiang Zuo offers to tutor her in math and English, he strikes a deal: she'll pretend to be his girlfriend to ward off his persistent ex. Unknown to Duidui, who has prosopagnosia and cannot recognize faces, the two actually met in high school, where Jiang Zuo harbored secret feelings for her. As their fake relationship deepens through tutoring sessions and time spent together, old emotions surface and complicate their arrangement. The series blends humor with genuine emotion as the pair navigate academic pressure, personal insecurity, and the blurred lines between pretense and real connection.
