Kiyoko Ranman(2013)

Kiyoko Ranman is a Japanese drama set in 1895, during Japan's celebration following victory in the First Sino-Japanese War. Kiyoko, daughter of a respected samurai family, watches her world collapse when her father, the village schoolmaster, is arrested on embezzlement charges. Branded the daughter of a corrupt official, she and her family face social ruin. Desperate to clear her father's name, Kiyoko turns to Yuma Souta, the village doctor and her childhood companion. Together they seek help from the influential Shibuzawa Yahiko, hoping to uncover the truth behind the accusations. The series follows Kiyoko's struggle against prejudice and injustice in Meiji-era Japan, exploring themes of honor, loyalty, and redemption as she fights to restore her family's reputation.
