Hanagoromo Yumegoromo is a drama series following twin sisters Maho and Mio, both seventeen. After a traumatic assault, Maho becomes pregnant and undergoes an abortion, resulting in a hysterectomy that leaves her unable to have children. When Hajima Masahito, son of a local store owner, proposes to Maho, she refuses him due to her condition. He then turns his attention to her twin sister Mio and marries her instead. Though Maho publicly wishes them happiness, she secretly begins an affair with her new brother-in-law, setting in motion a tangle of betrayal and unresolved desire that threatens to unravel the sisters' bond and the fragile peace of their lives.
