Life on Mars is a British drama series that follows a detective chief inspector who wakes up in 1973 after being hit by a car in 2006. Disoriented and desperate to understand what's happened, he finds himself working alongside a gruff team of old-school police officers in Manchester. The series blends mystery and dark comedy as he grapples with outdated technology, casual sexism, and brutal interrogation methods while investigating crimes and searching for answers about his strange predicament. Caught between two worlds, he must navigate a police force governed by entirely different rules while questioning whether he's truly travelled through time or lost his grip on reality.
