Tadas Blinda(1972)
Tadas Blinda is a historical drama series about the legendary 19th-century Lithuanian folk hero who fought against Polish landlords and Russian imperial rule. Born in 1846, Blinda led a peasant rebellion during a turbulent period when serfdom was officially ending but oppression persisted. Often called the Lithuanian Robin Hood, he became a symbol of resistance through bold raids and clever tactics that both challenged authority and inspired his people. The series follows his transformation from serf to outlaw leader, capturing the tension between an empire determined to maintain control and a population hungry for freedom. Blinda's defiant legacy endured long after his death in 1877, cementing his place in Lithuanian national identity as a champion of the common person against aristocratic and imperial tyranny.
