We Are Your Children(1988)

We Are Your Children is a Russian drama adapted from the play Ivan by G. Nikitin and O. Pyzhova. Principal Demidova runs a rural vocational school with genuine dedication, pushing her students toward becoming capable, well-rounded individuals. Yet she harbors a blind spot: she refuses to imagine her own son studying there. When he enrolls anyway, her son Ivan persuades his classmates—future livestock farmers—to take on an ambitious challenge: saving a struggling local farm. The series explores the tension between Demidova's ideals for others and her resistance to those same paths for her family, set against the backdrop of rural Soviet life and the moral education of young people.
