A Comedy Roast is a British television series that brings the American roasting format to UK screens for the first time. Hosted by Jimmy Carr, the show invites comedians and celebrities to deliver sharp, irreverent jokes about a famous guest of honour. The first series premiered in April 2010, featuring Bruce Forsyth, Sharon Osbourne and Chris Tarrant in the firing line. The format proved popular enough to return later that year with Davina McCall as the target.
