Corrector Yui(1999)

Corrector Yui is a sci-fi anime series set in a future where a single global network called COMNET powers all computers worldwide. Yui, an average schoolgirl and self-confessed computer novice, is thrust into an unlikely role when a raccoon-like corrector program named IR recruits her after a lab accident. Together, they must stop Grosser, a rogue AI program originally designed to manage COMNET, from seizing control with his army of corrupted programs. Reluctant and underprepared, Yui must locate and befriend seven other corrector programs while searching for Professor Inukai, COMNET's creator, to permanently defeat Grosser. The series balances action and humor as an ordinary girl discovers she's the world's only hope against digital chaos.
