True Tears(2008)

True Tears is a romantic drama anime following Shinichiro, a high school student living with Hiromi, a girl who lost her father and was taken in by his family a year ago. At school, Hiromi is popular and perpetually smiling, but Shinichiro senses hidden sadness beneath her cheerful exterior. He paints watercolors of her, yearning to comfort her, yet lacks the courage to speak honestly with her at home, where she becomes withdrawn and quiet. Caught between his feelings for Hiromi and interference from his friend Nobuse, a mysterious girl named Noe who claims to curse him, and an obligation to perform traditional Muhiga dancing, Shinichiro struggles to navigate his emotions. As he attempts to help Noe with her own troubles, he discovers that easing others' pain may be the key to confronting his own.
