Onion SportsDome(2011)

Onion SportsDome is a comedy series that parodies sports television, created by the satirical news team behind The Onion. Premiering on Comedy Central in January 2011, the show mimics the format and tone of ESPN's SportsCenter, following fictional anchors Alex Reiser and Mark Shepard as they deliver absurdist sports commentary. Matt Walton and Matt Oberg anchor the desk while sportscaster Danyelle Sargent rounds out the team. The series featured appearances from real athletes including Gary Payton and Ahmad Bradshaw. Despite completing its initial ten-episode run, SportsDome was pulled from the schedule after just four months and ultimately cancelled by Comedy Central in June 2011, making way for other programming in its time slot.
