Hey Hey It's Saturday is an Australian variety show that became a television institution. Hosted by Daryl Somers throughout its 27-year run, the program debuted on the Nine Network in October 1971 and concluded in November 1999. The show mixed comedy, music, and entertainment with a playful energy that defined Australian television for nearly three decades. Somers eventually took creative control alongside on-screen partner Ernie Carroll, who performed the beloved puppet character Ossie Ostrich. The duo formed their own production company to steer the program's direction.
