Blood Ties(2007)

Blood Ties is a Canadian supernatural drama series based on Tanya Huff's Blood Books. Set in Toronto, the show follows a vampire who partners with local police to solve crimes, blending noir detective work with dark fantasy. Created by Peter Mohan, it shares thematic ground with Forever Knight, another Toronto-set series about a vampire assisting law enforcement. The cast includes Kyle Schmid as the vampire protagonist and Gina Holden as his human partner. Blood Ties premiered on Lifetime in March 2007 and aired on Canadian networks Citytv and Space that fall. Despite its devoted fanbase, the series was cancelled after one season when Lifetime declined renewal in May 2008, leaving its story unresolved.
