The Blade and Petal(2013)

The Blade and Petal is a historical drama set during the Goguryo period. Moo Young, daughter of King Young Ryu, falls in love with Yeon Choong, the son of the powerful Yeon Gaesomun and a concubine. Their romance becomes impossible when Moo Young discovers that Yeon Gaesomun murdered her father, forcing her to choose between love and vengeance. Yeon Choong faces his own torment: born of noble and servant blood, he is barred from advancement in rank despite his talents. When his father orders him to kill the woman he loves, Yeon Choong is torn between duty and desire. The series explores how two people from opposing worlds navigate passion, loyalty, and the weight of their bloodlines in a kingdom divided by power and prejudice.
