Love on a Rooftop(1966)

Love on a Rooftop is a sitcom about newlyweds Dave and Julie Willis, who are scraping by in San Francisco on Dave's meager apprentice architect's salary of $85.37 a week. Their struggle for independence is constantly undermined by Julie's wealthy father, who disapproves of their modest circumstances and repeatedly attempts to elevate their lifestyle—much to Dave's frustration. The show mines comedy from the clash between the couple's determination to make it on their own and her father's well-meaning but intrusive generosity, exploring themes of pride, marriage, and class in 1960s America.
