The Red Tent(2014)
The Red Tent is a miniseries that expands on Dinah's story, a biblical figure whose life receives only a brief mention in Genesis. Told through Dinah's voice, the drama follows her journey from childhood through adulthood in ancient times, shaped by her four mothers—Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah, the wives of Jacob. The series explores the traditions and rituals of women's lives, including the red tent where women gathered during menstruation, childbirth, and illness. Dinah's path leads her toward midwifery and takes her across foreign lands, where she encounters caravans, farmers, and shepherds. Her life intersects with love and tragedy in Shechem, and her half-brother Joseph's ascent in Egypt. The narrative weaves together intimate family bonds, spiritual practices, and the consequences of desire and violence in the ancient world.
