Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl is a Japanese anime series that follows Niwa Makoto, a high school student living with his aunt's family while his parents work abroad. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets his cousin Touwa Erio, a girl his age who wraps a futon mattress around her body and claims to be an alien. Erio had vanished for six months before being discovered floating in the sea with no memory of her disappearance. Convinced that extraterrestrials are responsible, she roams the neighbourhood in her futon, surviving on pizza. As Makoto navigates daily life with his eccentric cousin, the series blends comedy with the mystery of Erio's missing time and her increasingly bizarre behaviour.
