Civil Marriage(2017)

Civil Marriage is a Russian comedy series about a young couple caught between adolescence and adulthood. Tyoma and Nika have been together over a year, but both resist the traditional path their parents took—early jobs, early weddings, early children. To prove their independence, they move into Nika's grandmother's apartment to live together, a decision her disapproving father reluctantly accepts. The catch: the apartment sits just floors below Nika's parents' home. What follows is a collision of adult responsibilities and youthful carelessness. Bills pile up, jobs prove elusive, petty arguments erupt, and nosy neighbors intrude. As Tyoma and Nika navigate work, money, and the daily friction of shared living, they must decide whether their relationship can survive the weight of real life or whether they'll retreat into the comfort of childhood.
