Mitsuboshi Colors(2018)

Mitsuboshi Colors is a slice-of-life series following three young girls in Tokyo's Ueno district who imagine themselves as the neighborhood's protectors. In reality, they spend their days playing make-believe, exploring their community, and getting into harmless mischief. With help from Daigorou "Pops" Kujiraoka, who runs a quirky shop filled with trinkets and treasures, the trio creates elaborate fantasy adventures. Local policeman Saitou often becomes an unwilling participant in their games, cast as the villain more often than not. Despite his exasperation, he humors the girls at every turn. While the Colors never actually save Ueno from danger, their infectious energy and childlike wonder brighten the lives of everyone around them, from shopkeepers to passersby. The series captures the simple joy of childhood imagination and community connection.
